Vol. 18 No. 02 June 2008

CAPTIONMore than a month after Cyclone Nargis hit the southern delta region of Burma, dead bodies are still seen lying around the area. The Burmese authorities have miserably failed to comfort a devastated population. They have neglected to provide adequate food, shelter and medicine; and they have refused outside assistance to do so. They have even neglected to afford a proper burial to the tens of thousands that perished.
The Burmese people have been betrayed; and the world, especially Burma’s neighbours in Asia should feel ashamed.
