We are profoundly saddened by the five nuclear tests in India in the last two days (Ed. note: 11 and 13 May 1998). We feel that this will harm immensely the peace and stability in Asia, especially the sub-continent. We call on all nations, for the sake of the survival and well-being of humankind, to completely ban further nuclear tests of any kind. We request you to do everything possible to this effect.
